Payroll Administrator - Element Technical Services

Element Technical Services is a private oilfield services company with operations in Canada and the United States. Element specializes in providing its customers with industry leading fracturing and coiled tubing completion services. Element is looking to add a hardworking and energetic Payroll Administrator to its rapidly growing company. This position will be based in downtown Calgary and will report to the Payroll & Benefits Coordinator. The successful candidate will possess strong written and verbal communication skills and will have a proven ability to perform work diligently and on time in a team-based environment.

Responsibilities for the role will include:
➢Efficiently and accurately process and administer semi-monthly payroll, including salaried, hourly and intermittent pay, for employees in multiple locations and jurisdictions
➢Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and changes in compensation or benefits.
➢Review online submitted time sheets to ensure proper completion and authorization
➢Payroll deduction administration
➢Assist with payroll reconciliation prior to processing
➢Maintain company adherence to legislation by ensuring a high level of confidentiality, accuracy and remaining current with payroll regulations
➢Enroll, manage and verify employees’ entries into the online benefit provider’s system with regard to health & dental benefits as well as retirement plans and reconcile monthly
➢Prepare and distribute payroll reports, statements, and tax forms as required
➢Address employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and tax-related matters.
➢Collaborate with the HR and Finance departments to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
➢Resolve payroll discrepancies and address any issues promptly.
➢Stay up-to-date on changes in payroll regulations and industry best practices.

Experience and Skills:
➢Completion of post-secondary education
➢Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator or in a similar role
➢Strong understanding of payroll principles, tax regulations and wage calculation, Payroll Compliance Practitioner Designation completion or in process
➢Expert level of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Microsoft Excel
➢Successful completion of a criminal background check
➢ADP and Avanti experience would be an asset
➢Exceptional attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
➢Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
➢Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with utmost integrity.
➢Effective written and verbal communication skills.
➢Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment.

N2 Operators/Supervisors

Location: Grande Prairie, AB

Description:

Essential Coil Well Service, a division of Element Technical Services, is currently looking for N2 Pumping Operators/Supervisors based out of our Grande Prairie or Red Deer locations.
 
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Operate low rate N2 pump equipment.
  • Rig in/out 1" iron.
  • Load/unload N2 in safe manner.
  • Transport N2. 
  • Proper use of TDG documentation.
  • Maintain a safe work area.
  • Monitor, inspect and adjust all major equipment during operations to ensure the equipment’s adequate operation.
  • Perform pre- and post-job inspections on pumping equipment and take responsibility for operations during the delivery of services.
  • Recognize equipment malfunctions and correct as necessary. 
  • Perform general preventative maintenance on all pumping and various other equipment.
  • Maintain equipment to above industry standards.
  • Collaborate with other service lines on location.

 Job Requirements
  • Previous oilfield experience is considered an asset.
  • Valid H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, ODA, and CSO certification would be an asset but willing to train the right individual.
  • Valid Class 1 Driver’s License with good driving record required. 
  • Able to pass a pre-employment physical fitness assessment and drug screen.
  • Able to work out of town for extended periods.

Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic or Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic

Description:

Essential Coil Well Service, a division of Element Technical Services, is currently seeking a Journeyman or Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic for our Grande Prairie location.


Duties/Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough Preventative Maintenance inspections to all company assets while complying with all safety, environmental and operational policies, and procedures

• Troubleshoot, repair, and adjust complex hydraulic systems

• Inspect, repair, and adjust diesel powered units

• Diagnose defects and repair a wide variety of heavy-duty equipment

• Perform mechanical repairs on equipment in the shop and road calls when required

 

Qualifications:

• Journeyman Heavy Duty Technician (Red Seal preferred)  

• Or currently enrolled in the Alberta Apprenticeship Program as a Heavy Duty Mechanic

• A valid CVIP license an asset or have the ability to apply for one

• Previous oilfield, coil tubing and pumping experience would be an asset

• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with good driving record required

• Computer diagnostic experience

• Ability to work independently in a busy environment with shifting priorities

• Highly flexible with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment

• Clear and concise communication skills – both written and verbal
